What your breathing can tell you during a massage
People often hold their breath when pressure becomes intense. That response can be a useful signal to pause, reduce the pressure or approach the area more gradually.
There is no special breathing technique you must perform. Let your breath remain natural and tell your therapist if you feel yourself bracing. Comfort and communication help the body settle into the work.
